HUGE VICTORY! SLOVENIA THE FIRST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD BAN FUR

IMPORTANT STEP TO FUR-FREE EUROPE
Anti-fur Society is extremely happy to share some great news:
VICTORY!!! FUR FREE SLOVENIA!!!

Slovenia, a small country surrounded by Italy, Austria and Croatia has become the first country in the world to BAN FUR! In three years, no fur farms will be allowed in Slovenia or fur trade of any kind. This represents a great victory for animal rights in that country and indeed to all of us around the world. It brings hope that we too, can do the same, if we join forces together and become one strong voice. This sends the message loud and clear that it is possible to defeat a vile and pernicious industry such as the fur industry. Once these amazing laws come into effect in Slovenia, animal rights activists will surely dedicate themselves to other major animal issues. That’s the most effective way to go: One evil stripped off at a time!

And if that were not enough, there is more good news. Slovenia has also taken another bold step, which is ban of all animals in circuses!

Congratulations to the good people of Slovenia

for achieving two winnable battles for the animals.

VICTORY: FRANCE KEEPS TWO OLD LADIES ELEPHANTS FOR BARDOT

Bridget Bardot, once the most beautiful women in the world, now is tirelessly fighting for Baby and Nepal - two former circus elephants suspected of carrying tuberculosis. Madame Bardot even threatened to apply for Russian citizenship if French authorities stuck to their decision to euthanize the elephants.

Living in Lyon zoo from 1999

Baby and Nepal were quarantined together with another elephant Java. When Java died in August 2012, after the autopsy was found that he was carrying the Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain. If such case is reported in a wild animal living in captivity, authorities face a regulatory vacuum and are free to decide whether the case requires quarantine, treatment or euthanasia.

UPDATE: BARDOT SAVED BABY AND NEPAL, 42 and 43 years-old female Asian elephants!

In February, France's Council of State granted a reprieve for Baby and Nepal, to the delight of Brigitte Bardot and many animal advocates. Bardot asked to put them into the care of her animal welfare Foundation. “They are old ladies” - she said. “Now we have to find for them a suitable place and leave them in peace.”
Baby and Nepal can live in a quarantine park, where they can be treated without risk of contamination with other animals or people.

It is Vladimir Putin's loss, as Bardot will be staying in her home country, along with the two beloved ladies, Baby and Nepal.
